Strong opinions. Safe room.
What keeps the argument worth having: who may be here, what is never tolerated, what happens before an entry is public, and the three tools that are always in your hands.
1 Kuralok is for adults
You must be 18 or older to hold an account. Creating one confirms it — the attestation is part of the terms you agree to at signup. We do not open accounts for anyone younger, and we do not collect a date of birth.
2 The terms you agree to
Every account agrees to the Contributor Terms, and when they change materially you are asked to agree again before you next publish, comment or react. At their centre: There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Harassment or personal attacks, hate against a group, threats and incitement, sexual content, doxxing, spam and illegal content are removed, and the account that posted them is ejected. Anonymity is never a shield: every anonymous entry belongs to an account we can act on.
3 What happens before an entry is public
Three things stand between a submission and the feed, all of them before publication:
- A keyword screen checks every entry, edit and comment. A new entry that trips it is held for a person to read; an edit or a comment that trips it is refused with the reason, so you can rephrase.
- New writers are read first. A new account's first entries are read by a person before they appear. Established accounts publish instantly and keep that standing by keeping the rules.
- Cover images are read with the entry when the writer is under review, an account whose report was upheld cannot upload at all, and every upload is re-encoded and stripped of all metadata before anything is kept.
Nothing already public is ever removed by an algorithm. A person decides, and the decision is logged.
4 How to report
An entry: the ⋯ menu beside the byline, or Report in the reaction row. A comment: Report in its row. A writer: Report on their profile. Choose a reason, add a note if you like, and here is what happens next:
- It is hidden from your feed now.
- A moderator reviews it within 24 hours.
- If it breaks the rules, it is removed and the account is ejected.
- You get a notification with the outcome.
- Urgent, or something the form does not cover? Email [email protected].
5 How to block a writer
Block is on every writer's profile, in the ⋯ menu of their named entries, and in every comment's action row. Blocking a writer hides their comments from you, stops their notifications reaching you, and takes their named entries out of your lists — home, Latest, Most viewed, Rising, categories and search. Nobody else is affected, and the writer is not told. Undo it any time in Settings → Blocked writers.
6 How to hide an entry
The ⋯ menu on any entry has Hide this entry. It leaves every list you see at once — with an Undo in the toast, and a full list of what you hid in Settings → Hidden entries. Reporting an entry hides it for you as well.
7 The 24-hour rule
Every report is reviewed by a person within 24 hours. Content that breaks the rules is removed and the account that posted it is ejected. You get a notification with the outcome. Nothing is hidden by a report count or a bot — a crowd can never silence a writer, and a moderator can never act unseen: every decision is logged.
8 Contact
A person reads all of it. General questions: [email protected]. Anything urgent — abuse, doxxing, an appeal, or something the report form does not cover: [email protected]. Press: [email protected]. The Contact page has the same three doors.
